Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken - SM Megamall

The boyfriend and I usually go out on weekends. In fact, this has already been a routine for us. We watch movies, eat and shop for stuffs we need or like.

One weekend, we decided to eat at Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken again. We already ate in this restaurant and liked the food...so, there we go again. (Plus, I really love chicken! :P )

As usual, we were greeted by their staff with, "Senor, Senoras!". It really caught our attention the first time you know, because it was said loud and clear.

Anyway, what I really like about this restaurant are the large servings because we're really big eaters. I was already full with their Everyday Platter.

This time, I ordered Everyday Platter C which included 1/4 Chicken, 2pcs. Wild Wings, Corn and Cob, Steamed Rice and Gravy and Regular Iced Tea.

The boyfriend ordered Everyday Platter B which included 1/4 Chicken, 2pcs. Parmesan Shrimp, Corn and Cob, Steamed Rice and Gravy and Regular Iced Tea.

For their 1/4 Chicken, you get to choose from three flavors: Hot and Spicy, Lemon and Garlic and I forgot the other one. Hehe.

But anyway, we both chose Hot and Spicy.

During this time too, the restaurant has an ongoing promo. You can drink all you want and have soup all you want for only P49 per head. However, it was self-service, so you have to get your drinks and soup on their Soup and Beverage Bar.

If I can remember it well, they had mushroom or corn and broccoli soup that time. As for drinks, they had red iced tea, pineapple juice, coffee and tea.

I didn't try them all because I was already full, and besides, the soup and drinks were so-so. There was nothing special, but of course, what can you expect for P49. It was already right for the price.

Verdict:

If you're really hungry and want affordable yet good food, Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken is the best bet. We're definitely going back again! :)

Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken is located in SM Megamall Building A, 3F, along the bridge and beside Tokyo Cafe and Racks.

PisoBid.com - Overview and Tips on How to Bid (Smartly)

I've already known about fast-paced online penny auctions before I've seen PisoBid.com--the first Philippine online penny auction site. As a matter of fact, I worked on the online and email content of one penny auction site based in the US. So technically, I know something about the rules of this kind of auction sites.

Penny auction sites are online bidding sites that offers items, usually gadgets such as iPad, iPhone, Sony Playstation, etc for pennies. Meaning, once you win an auction, you only need to pay for a dollar or two for the item that you've won. Really nice, eh?

Oh, but I forgot--you need to buy bids that you can use in the auctions.

Though I know several of these sites, all foreign, I've only tried bidding in PisoBid because: 1.) If I win, there'll be no hassles in shipping (because shipping fees are always shouldered by the buyer) and 2.) I've been given 10 free bids by this auction site.

In my humble opinion, I think these penny auction sites are really addicting. Why? Because of the fast-paced environment, your eagerness to win (fabulous) items is increased. You might not even notice that your bid credits have already run out because the 20-second timer really ticks fast. Plus, you can get to pay only PHP5 for a PHP1,000 peso Globe load or maybe even less depending on the winning price.

And probably because it really is addicting, there are already hundreds of people who have purchased 1000's of bids from PisoBid to join the auctions. But of course, isn't it fun?

Additionally, I'm thinking that this is similar to gambling--though of course, not totally. It is similar in the sense that everyone wants to win badly. In fact, they'll buy n bids just so that they can win.

And mind you, I find the bids expensive. You see, these bids are usually available in bid packs. In the US, one bid costs USD0.60 and the bid packs are calculated based on this price. However, I find that the prices of bid packs in PisoBid varies. The first bid pack which includes 10 bids costs PHP300 and the fifth bid pack which includes 500 bids costs PHP3,000.

Really, this online auction isn't for the poor.

Oh well, what can I say to these people but enjoy. Enjoy bidding! In addition, I would like to give useful tips on how to be a smart bidder.

Tips on How to Bid (Smartly) in Penny Auction Sites

  • Before bidding, be aware of terms and policies including the rules and regulations of auction site. Reading these materials can guide you into what to expect in the ongoing auctions. Plus, you can also create a strategy for an effective bidding (and eventually winning) by going over the rules of the site.
  • Make sure to have your research first. Read forums, Facebook pages and blogs before buying bids from the auction site. If they'll give you free bids, use them first and see if you like their bidding system.
  • Do not buy bids more than you actually can. If you're on a tight budget, don't try buying 1000's of bids just because you want to save (or so you thought you can save).
  • Create a threshold of how much you can spend on these auction sites. By doing so, you can control your spending habits and be able to avoid overspending.
  • Lastly, choose a good time of the day (or night) when bidding. Bidding on these auction sites can take more time than you can imagine. Make sure that you're not in the middle of your work when you bid!

Natural Beauty (NB) Clinic - Oranbo, Pasig

Facial, spa, waxing, underarm whitening, diamond peeling and a whole lot more are being offered by several group buying and daily deal sites to Filipino women nowadays. Through this sites, one can have a facial for only around P200 and underarm whitening also for P200. (Prices vary on the establishment of course.)

And of course, since I'm also a lady, I want to try these services too and "beautify" myself. It's simply perfect with huge discounts that accompany this kind of services.

Through MetroDeal, I was able to buy vouchers for two underarm whitening sessions from Natural Beauty (NB) Clinic. I've long been wanting to avail of this service since my underarms, though not really dark, do not have balanced pigmentation. But anyway, only ladies from the entertainment industry would have perfect, white, smooth underarms. It's part of their work, so it's okay.

NB Clinic is located at U-211, Skyway Twin Tower, Oranbo, Pasig. It's near Philippine Sports Commission (formerly Ultra), so it's quite a convenient place for me since I'm living near that area.

Before I went there, I've done a bit of research on Google and found out that its a Korean beauty clinic. That's a plus for me because I find Koreans' skin really nice. And so, I was not surprised to see Korean letters on their transparent door when I had my first session. I was also not surprised when I heard a Korean loudly talking on the phone on my second visit. In fact, I've seen a few Koreans in that place, probably also because of the preschool for Koreans on the ground floor.

My first impression of the place is clean. They even have lockers (which sadly do not lock) in a separate room (Powder Room).

Lockers

In these lockers, you will see a bathrobe and another cloth used to cover the body. Every client needs to change into these first before proceeding to the Massage Room.

A large mirror in the Powder Room lobby

The Massage Room is where the underarm whitening session is done. (But I also saw that they have an Operating Room which are probably used for cosmetic surgeries.) There are around 20 beds in this room separated by curtains.

On my first visit, I was a bit uncomfortable because there are five or six more ladies with me and the curtains are not properly covering me. LOL. But on my second session with them, I'm more relaxed. In fact, too relaxed that I almost fell asleep while waiting for the cream on my underarm to dry out. LOL.

The Curtain (LOL)

Speaking of the cream, there are three products applied on my underarms. First is the soap. The staff told me that it is a gluta soap. They use it to wipe away deodorant. After that tickling massage on my underarms, the staff applied the whitening cream. It was left on the skin for 30 minutes. This cream dried out--probably to clear the underarm skin with dead skin cells. Both of these products are Korean.

Lastly, after sponging the cream off my underarm, they applied a clear gel which I've been told contains Vitamin E and is good for smoothening chicken skin and maintenance. Anyway, the staff also told me that I should use this since my underarm was not dark and only needed maintenance.

I also found the NB Clinic staff accommodating and friendly. They are Filipinos mind you (in case whether you're wondering if the staff are Korean or not).

Overall, my experience with NB Clinic is good. However, I'm not really sure whether my underarms have lightened. The staff let me see my underarm after the first session and I was not convinced that it really had lightened. Additionally, I really don't have dark underarms and several sessions with this clinic to know clearly.
